Cohesity’s news and media highlights

Data management provider Cohesity Inc. today announced an extension of its relationship with International Business Machines Corp., including new funding, with an aim to accelerate the development of essential cyber resilience capabilities across hybrid cloud environments. As part of the expanded relationship, Cohesity announced that it has completed its Series F round of venture capital, with IBM and Nvidia Corp. participating in the round. The amount that was invested was not disclosed in the press release, but the company confirmed it was $150 million. It had raised $805 million previously.
Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security and management, today announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to help organizations safely unlock the power of generative AI and data using the recently announced NVIDIA NIM microservices and by integrating NVIDIA AI Enterprise into the Cohesity Gaia platform. Cohesity Gaia, the company’s comprehensive, patent-pending collection of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, will offer NVIDIA NIM and additional technologies as part of a hardened, enterprise-class, multicloud data platform, with ready-to-implement generative AI solutions.
U.S. data security software firm Cohesity told Reuters on Wednesday it has agreed to acquire Veritas' data protection business in a deal that values the combined entity at $7 billion. The cash and stock acquisition is expected to help Cohesity, which is backed by Japan's SoftBank Group (9984.T), opens new tab, achieve positive growth margins and expand into international markets, Cohesity CEO Sanjay Poonen said in an interview, adding that the firms together have $1.6 billion in annual revenue.
The data startup Cohesity is gearing up to go public as soon as its bankers give the nod, CEO Sanjay Poonen told Insider. This isn't the first time that Cohesity, which helps companies store their data backups on cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, has prepared for an initial public offering.
