ConsenSys founder and CEO Joseph Lubin said: “Next round will be our ‘Series ETH’ where we will assist investors in getting fully crypto native[...].” The fresh funds will support the expansion of cryptocurrency soft wallet MetaMask, which is scheduled for a “major redesign” in 2022.
Microsoft has joined a $450 million funding round for ConsenSys that values the blockchain software engineering firm at $7 billion.
ConsenSys plans to use the funding to support a hiring surge this year, while developing its Infura and MetaMask assets.
