Neocis’ news and media highlights

Neocis®, the global leader in robot-assisted dental implant surgery, and Dr. Jonathan Ehlers, owner of Tiger Family Dental in Sedalia, Missouri, recently authored a paper on the relationship between implant volume and adoption of robot-assisted implant surgery. Published by Dental Economics earlier this month, the in-depth analysis is based on two years of data provided by Tiger Family Dental and ten other general dentistry practices across the country that place implants with Yomi®.
Neocis, which has developed the Yomi robot to assist in dental implant surgeries, has brought in $20 million in funding. The Miami-based company plans to use the funding for business initiatives including product development, sales enablement, and clinical education. “The latest investment is a testament to our growth as a company and how far dental robotics has come since the first Yomi systems were installed,” stated Alon Mozes, Neocis’ co-founder and CEO, in a release.
Dental robotics startup Neocis today closed a $70 million round of funding. The company plans to use the capital to bolster growth, with a focus on expanding its customer base and hiring new employees. Estimates suggest surgical robots have been used in over 6 million cardiovascular, neurological, and orthopedic procedures since 2000, depending on how loosely the word “robot” is applied. But surgical robots have taken longer to reach dentistry, perhaps because the mouth is already more accessible than other parts of the body
