"CMR Surgical has reported a record number of installations of its Versius surgical robot in Q4 2023. The company also plans to offer advanced technologies to support the use of Versius in 2024, including enhancements in vision, instrumentation, and digital. The company's Versius global install base was more than 50% higher than in 2022, with over 17,000 surgical procedures completed using Versius, marking a growth of over 60%.
Kreiskrankenhaus Rotenburg, a German hospital, has adopted the Versius surgical robot from CMR Surgical. This marks the hospital's first introduction of robotic surgery. The hospital plans to use Versius for a range of surgeries, including complex visceral surgery and abdominal tumour surgery. This latest installation brings the global total of Versius robots to over 140. CMR Surgical raised $165m in September to support Versius.
