World View’s news and media highlights

World View, a global leader in stratospheric exploration and flight, announces the successful opening and initial funding of a Series D round. The round was led by SNC, a renowned leader in innovative technology solutions and open architecture integrations within the aerospace and national security sectors. This strategic investment builds upon the multi-year strategic partnership initiated in 2022 between World View and SNC. This funding round also saw participation from both new and existing investors, reflecting the continued confidence in World View's pioneering work in high-altitude, stratospheric flight technologies and systems.
The special purpose acquisition company poised to take stratospheric balloon startup World View public is now under official deadline as shareholders voted to again push back the date by which it must complete the deal. World View, which was founded a decade ago, was originally focused on using a fleet of stratospheric balloons to provide space tourism experiences. In the past five or so years, the company has instead emphasized the opportunity to fill “a critical gap in the remote sensing ecosystem,” as it said in an investor presentation from January.
In 2017, Andrew Antonio found himself at the center of an ad campaign for the ages. Antonio, then the head of marketing for World View Enterprises, received a phone call from Kentucky Fried Chicken. It wanted to send one of its chicken sandwiches to space. As Antonio recounts in the latest episode of Hello World, World View made huge balloons that could soar through the stratosphere, and so Antonio actually took the fast food company’s request seriously.
World View, a global leader in stratospheric exploration and flight, announces the closing of a strategic $25M investment from Breakthrough Victoria, an investment company established by the Victorian government to provide long-term capital to innovation businesses and projects that will improve people’s lives and benefit Victoria’s economy.
