Honeywell to supply avionics for Boom Supersonic aircraft
Boom Supersonic selected Honeywell Anthem avionics and integrated flight deck for its Overture aircraft. As part of the agreement between the two companies, Honeywell’s modular avionics platform will be incorporated into Overture. US-based Boom is developing the Mach 2.2-capable Overture airliner to carry up to 88 passengers and have a range of 4,500 nautical miles.
Boom Supersonic selects Latecoere to develop electrical wiring interconnection system
Boom Supersonic in Denver needed a company to its complete electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) architecture, a key system for both its Overture supersonic commercial jet and Symphony, the engine that will power it. They found their solution from Latecoere in Toulouse, France. As part of the agreement, Latecoere's engineering team in Toulouse will work with Boom engineers to define the complete electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) architecture, a key system for both Overture and Symphony.
Boom times: The supersonic Overture is getting that much closer to taking flight
The journey of Boom Supersonic’s Overture aircraft is being financed in part by an entity with ties to Saudi Arabia as the cutting-edge passenger jet continues to clear significant hurdles on its way to taking flight. Boom, based in Denver, has said it would begin test flights in 2026 at its $500 million Piedmont Triad International Airport “superfactory.”
