Vercel (formerly known as Zeit) was founded in 2015 by Guillermo Rauch. In 2022, when asked about the possibility of an IPO, Rauch hinted that he has no immediate plans to take the company public, saying "right now, we are focused on the fundamentals: Building a product developers love and empowering anyone to participate in creating the future of the web."
Vercel is a cloud infrastructure company that uses the Jamstack framework to allow for faster application development and deployment. The company acquired Turborepo and Splitbee in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Vercel has raised more than $310 million in venture capital funding from investors such as GGV Capital, Tiger Global, GV, Salesforce Ventures, and Accel. After raising $150 million in fresh capital in 2021, the company announced a valuation of $2.5 billion.
