Its additional services include staking, custody and payments, with an approach that emphasizes security. The company has raised capital from prominent investors including 2B Global Capital, SBI Investment, RIT Capital Partners, Hummingbird Ventures and Venture Garage. In August 2026, Allied Venture Partners reported that Kraken had confidentially filed for a U.S. initial public offering (IPO). The report said Kraken was targeting a listing in late 2026 or early 2027 after pausing earlier plans. Publicly traded competitors in the cryptocurrency exchange space include Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN), Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) and Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE).
