Stance was founded in 2009 by Aaron Hennings, Jeff Kearl, John Wilson, Ryan Kingman, and Taylor Shupe. The company has not publicly endorsed plans to participate in an IPO.

Stance is an apparel company that specializes in socks and underwear. Along with its ecommerce presence, the company maintains a number of brick and mortar locations in cities across the United States. Stance has raised more than $115 million in venture capital funding from investors including August Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Menlo Ventures, Shasta Ventures, and Sherpa Capital.
