Reddit was founded in 2005 by Steve Huffman, Alexis Ohanian, and Aaron Swartz. According to Reuters in January 2024 Reddit is seeking an IPO. The Reuters report stated, “It would be the first IPO of a major social media company since Pinterest's (PINS.N), opens new tab debut in 2019.”
Reddit is a social media platform with a focus on news aggregation, web content ratings, and discussion. Per Forge data, Reddit raised $1.3 billion in funding over 10 rounds. Their latest funding was raised on Aug 12, 2021, from a Series F round. Key investors include Vy Capital, Tencent, Y Combinator, and Fidelity Management and Research Company.
