Pindrop was founded in 2011 by Mustaque Ahamad, Paul Judge, and Vijay Balasubramaniyan. Following the acquisition of Next Caller in 2021, Balasubramaniyan told reporters, that the company could hold an IPO "in the next couple years."
Pindrop offers fraud detection for banks, insurance providers, and other enterprises. The company uses voice recognition software aiming to detect fraudulent customer calls. Pindrop has raised more than $215 million in venture capital funding from investors including Vitruvian Partners, Goldman Sachs, CapitalG, IVP, Andreessen Horowitz, GV, and Citi Ventures. The company was valued at $925 million in 2018, following a $90 million Series D funding round.
