In 2017, Devin Finzer and Alex Atallah saw an opportunity to create a unique space for buying and selling digital assets and responded by founding OpenSea. Devin Finzer, who continues to lead the company as CEO, reflected in an October of 2021 interview with Bankless, “It’s a whole cultural movement around crypto.” Some of OpenSea’s top investing companies and individuals include Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase, and Blockchain Capital, as well as Mark Cuban, Tim Ferriss, and Kevin Durant. OpenSea is a global online marketplace for non-fungible tokens. They provide a secure and customizable platform for the digital exchange of items from artwork, photography, and music to virtual gaming worlds, collectibles, and much more.
