Liquid Death, based in Santa Monica, Calif., was launched in 2019 by Mike Cessario, the company’s CEO. The fast-growing beverage company produces mountain spring water in tallboy-sized aluminum bottles. The company has an edgy tagline: “Murder Your Thirst.” In October, Liquid Death received an additional $70 million investment, funding that will be used to expand into new beverage categories and into the European market. The company is already on track for $130 million in revenue this year, according to the company, up from $45 million in 2021.
Among Liquid Death’s investors are Velvet Sea Ventures, Live Nation Entertainments, musician Machine Gun Kelly and stand-up comic Whitney Cummings. The company has raised at least $184 million in funding over seven rounds, the latest of which was a Series D round in October. 2022. Its last known valuation was $705 million and has not publicly communicated an intention to IPO.
