Inrix was founded in 2005 by Bryan Mistele and Craig Chapman. After taking steps towards an IPO — steps that included reserving a ticker symbol — the company decided to put the plans on hold. In August 2022, Mistele told reporters that a public offering is still something the company would consider. "We’re on standby right now, waiting to see when the markets and economy improve, in which case we’ll take another run at it."

Inrix is a transportation technology company that collects data from hundreds of millions of individual sources, offering insights into both current and long-term traffic conditions. Between 2011 and 2016, Inrix acquired ITIS Holdings, ParkMe, and Opencar. The company has raised more than $120 million in venture capital funding from investors including General Motors, Venrock, August Capital, and Porsche Ventures. Inrix did not disclose valuation figures after a $10 million Series F funding round in 2022.

These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.
