Course Hero is an online learning platform that allows students to share and purchase study materials and other educational resources. The company has acquired five other edtech companies: Symbolab, LitCharts, CliffsNotes, QuillBot, and Scribblr. CEO Grauer says that more acquisitions may be on the way. The business, which reports having been profitable for more than five years, has raised $477 million in venture capital funding from investors including Wellington Management, Sequoia Capital Global Equities, OMERS Growth Equity, D1 Capital, GSV Ventures, NewView Capital, SuRo Capital, TPG, and Valiant Peregrine Fund. A $380 million Series C round increased the company's valuation to $3.6 billion.
