CircleCi was founded in 2014 by Paul Biggar and Allen Rohner. In an interview with TechCrunch in April 2020, CEO Jim Rose noted, when asked about a potential IPO, that “we’re going to have to get folks to some kind of liquidity at some point, but I think right now our focus is on really investing in the platform and investing in our customers.” These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.

CircleCI is a continuous integration and delivery platform for Linux, macOS, and Android, available in the cloud or self-hosted. The company has raised nearly $200 million in Venture Capital funding from investors including IVP, Sapphire Ventures, Top Tier Capital Partners, Scale Venture Partners, Threshold Ventures, Baseline Ventures, and SV Angel. Per company press releases, CircleCi last raised in April 2020 at a post-money valuation of over $600 million.
