According to a 2021 article in the Silicon Valley Business Journal, Carbon Health "reportedly was in talks with a blank check company, but has decided to do a traditional IPO instead." These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.

Since 2018, Carbon Health has acquired Direct Urgent Care, Steady Health, and Alertive Healthcare.
