Bolt Financial was founded in 2014 by Eric Feldman and Ryan Breslow. While the company has been growing rapidly, CEO Breslow stated that going public is not an immediate goal for the company, saying that “we have one goal, and that is to build the greatest company ever." These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.
Bolt is a fintech company focused on providing intelligent online payments solutions. The company hopes to compete with Amazon by developing its own e-commerce ecosystem with one-click checkout, seamless order tracking, membership benefits, and more. In 2021 the company acquired Tipster, a website monetization platform. In April 2022, Bolt acquired Wyre, a cryptocurrency payment platform, for $1.5 billion. Bolt has raised roughly $1 billion in venture capital funding from investors including BlackRock, Schonfeld Securities, Invus Group, CreditEase, and H.I.G. Capital.
