Arcadia was founded in 2014 by Kiran Bhatraju and Ryan Nesbitt. In May 2022, Axios reported that Bhatraju said that a $200 million Series E funding round could be some of the company's last private fundraising before an IPO.
Arcadia is a climate technology company that collects energy-use data from smart meters so alternative energy companies can more effectively sell their utilities. Arcadia's flagship Arc platform allows companies to leverage their data to develop their own energy solutions. The company has raised more than $500 million in venture capital funding from investors such as Magnetar Capital, Keyframe Capital, Camber Creek, Tiger Global, and Wellington Management. The $200 million raise in 2022 increased Arcadia's valuation to $1.45 billion.
These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.
