GroundTruth (formerly known as xAd) was founded in 2009 by Dipanshu Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Chandra Kholia, and Michael Libes. The company has not publicly endorsed plans to participate in an IPO.

GroundTruth is a digital advertising platform that uses location services to target users across devices. The company acquired WeatherBug in 2016. GroundTruth has raised more than $116 million in venture capital funding from investors including Eminence Capital, W Capital, IVP, and Emergence Capital. The company did not disclose valuation figures following a $42.5 million fundraising round in 2016.
