While originally focused exclusively on hair care, the company expanded to include skincare with its 2021 acquisition of Atolla. Function of Beauty has raised more than $150 million in venture capital funding from investors including L Catterton, GGV Capital, and Y Combinator. The company did not disclose valuation figures after a $150 million fundraising round in 2020.
