Offchain Labs, the team behind Ethereum scaling solution Arbitrum, has introduced a new permissionless validation protocol called Bounded Liquidity Delay (BoLD). The protocol aims to prevent delay attacks and improve decentralization by allowing anyone to be a validator without risking such attacks. The introduction of BoLD will also ensure users have a guaranteed upper limit of seven days for their funds to be accurately reflected on Ethereum layer-1.
Offchain Labs' Chief Strategy Officer, A.J. Warner, has stated that the industry is still far from solving the blockchain trilemma of scalability, security, and decentralization. The token will be airdropped to select individuals and used for voting on two of its blockchain products. The company also announced the launch of the Arbitrum Foundation and a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to govern the development of Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova. The tokens will be dropped on March 23.
