On the company’s strategy website, they have pegged a target IPO date of Wednesday, November 18th, 2020, with the significance of it being “five years after the first people got stock options with 4 years of vesting.” These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.
GitLab Inc. is the owner and developer of a project management platform with the same name. Gitlab has raised over $400 million in Venture Capital funding from investors including Blackrock, Coatue Management, Franklin Templeton, General Catalyst, Tiger Global Management, ICONIQ, Goldman Sachs, GV, Khosla Ventures, and Y Combinator. Per company press releases, Gitlab last raised $268 million in September 2019 at a post-money valuation of $2.75 billion.
