Chargebee was founded in 2011 by Krish Subramanian, Rajaraman Santhanam, Saravanan KP, and Thiyagarajan T. In 2022 an executive said that the company hopes to go public in 3-5 years, adding that international growth remains a top priority.

Chargebee is a cloud-based subscription management platform for businesses. In 2021 and 2022, the company acquired RevLock, numberz, and Brightback. Headquartered in San Francisco, Chargebee has additional offices in the UK, Amsterdam, Australia, and operates in India. The company has raised more than $460 million in venture capital funding from investors including Tiger Global, Sequoia, Insight Partners, Sapphire, and Steadview Capital. Chargebee was valued at $3.5 billion after a $250 million fundraising round in 2022.
