Founded in 2018, Evinced is a privately owned technology company that develops a suite of products that enhance digital accessibility. The suite enables enterprise-level companies to identify, cluster, and monitor accessibility issues automatically through AI-driven processes. Evinced’s product lineup includes web and mobile flow analyzers, automation SDKs, site scanners, debuggers, unit testers, and design assistants. The tools pull from advanced rule sets and AI algorithms to detect and address accessibility problems that traditionally required manual auditing. By automating those processes, Evinced helps developers to save time and reduce company risk as it relates to accessibility compliance.

Evinced Partners with Teach Access To Drive Education in Digital Accessibility in Honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Today, in honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), Evinced, the leading software company powering accessible web and mobile development, announced a strategic partnership with Teach Access, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to making digital accessibility a fundamental component of education. Through this partnership, Evinced and Teach Access will enhance digital accessibility educational efforts at the secondary level in the U.S., helping to increase the number of professionals capable of developing fully accessible websites for all.

Evinced Proposes Mobile Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0

Evinced, the leading software company powering accessible web and mobile development, today announced its first draft of Mobile Content Accessibility Guidelines (MCAG) in order to accelerate development of a national accessibility standard for mobile apps. By 2025, 3.7 billion people – 72% of the global internet base – will access the internet exclusively via mobile. However, the guidelines in use for digital accessibility today – the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – came to be nearly 30 years ago, on May 5, 1999. While they were a major accomplishment in accessibility, they were created before smartphones, and the few major versions released since then remain largely web and desktop-oriented.

Evinced raises $17M to speed up accessibility testing for the web

Making and keeping the web accessible is a full-time job, and like any other development role, accessibility tools need to evolve to keep up with the times. Evinced is a startup that promises both richer and faster checks of websites in production or in progress, and it just raised $17 million to take its tools to the next level. Because accessibility problems can happen in so many ways, it often takes a lot of manual code review to catch the errors. Even a team thinking about making their site fully accessible from the start — which should be everyone — can miss that this script doesn’t hook into that variable right if this menu is opened, and so on.
