Coursera was founded in 2012 by Daphne Koller and Andrew Ng. The company has not officially endorsed a plan to participate in an IPO.
Coursera is an online learning platform that allows users to stream lectures from notable universities as well as obtain a broad range of professional certificates, degrees, and free courses. The company has raised over $460 million in Venture Capital funding from investors including Arctic Ventures, Black River Ventures, G Squared, Times Internet, Sutter Rock Capital, Kleiner Perkins, New Enterprise Associates, and the World Bank Group. Per company press releases, Coursera last raised $130 million in July 2020 at a post-money valuation of $2.5 billion.
