Cedar was founded in 2016 by Arel Lidow, Florian Otto, and Kareem Zaki. While the company is growing quickly, nobody has publicly discussed plans for a future IPO. These comments should not be interpreted to mean that the company is formally pursuing or foregoing an IPO.
Cedar is a fintech company and developer of a healthcare financial engagement platform for hospitals, health systems and medical groups that clarifies and simplifies the financial experience for patients, improving bill resolution and payment outcomes for providers. In 2021, Cedar acquired OODA Health, the makers of a powerful billing platform, for $425 million. Cedar has raised a total of $350 million in venture capital funding, most recently in a $200 million round that included investors Tiger Global Management, Thrive Capital, Concord Health Partners, and Andreessen Horowitz. This latest round raised the company's valuation to $3.2 billion.
