Sequoia Capital

Sequoia Capital was founded in 1972 by Don Valentine. Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, the firm maintains offices in London, Tel Aviv, and a number of other cities throughout Asia. The firms India division has grown to become one of the most consistently active venture capital firms in the country. Being one of the oldest VC firms in the United States, Sequoia Capital has a long history of successful technology investments. In the 1970s, the firm was an early investor in both Atari and Apple.

Sequoia Capital invests in across all stages of a company's growth. The firm was a seed stage investor in YouTube, Airbnb, and Stripe, and goes on to report that "99% of companies that have taken seed investments from Sequoia over the last decade are either still operating or have been acquired." Sequoia Capital has a large portfolio of partner companies that have gone on to successful IPOs, including Apple, Airbnb, DoorDash, Nubank, 23andMe, Google, Cisco, Zoom, WhatsApp, and Linkedin.
