Insight Partners was founded in 1995 by Jeff Horing and Jerry Murdock. Originally known as Insight Venture Partners, the firm later changed its name. Based out of New York City, the firm opened an office in Tel Aviv in 2019. For more than 25 years, Insight Partners has focused primarily on software investments. As of February 2022, Insight Partners reports to have more than $90 billion under management.

Insight Partners has received international recognition in recent years, being named one of the largest international private equity firms by Private Equity International and Business Insider. In 2019, Managing Director Jeff Lieberman was included in Forbes Magazine's Midas List of top global tech investors. Insight Partners invests in companies across all stages of development and funding. The firm is the largest investor in Monday.com and WalkMe, with a combined ownership worth $3.9 billion. Since its founding, the firm has invested in more than 600 companies, 55 of which have gone public through an IPO, including Shopify, Twitter, Chegg, Sentinel One, nCino, Shutterstock, and Instructure.
